Comics in Technicolour!

Well we got our comics, all 85 of them...in a glorious array of colours that were far removed from the one we wanted or proofed.  Bit of a cock up to say the least as the text and description on the back can't be read unless your eyes are blurry...so to say there is disappointment when we were due to have the copies in the shops today is a serious understatement!  Here is a beautiful technicolour arrangement for you - you might need shades tho!

Murder Room job

This is one of those projects that I started, put down, took up again...stopped to do something else and then re-started. I'm going to put up bits of what I've done here, but ultimately, it looks like a re-start and set a deadline and be done with it is needed. It's a great story, and deserves the time and attention.

They Came From Outer Space & 24hr Comics

The comic is due out this week which is going to be fun, and was featured passively at the 24hr comic challenge as a way to distract other punters...it kinda worked, but not for long! The 24 Comic Challenge was really great, the workshops were amazing and well attended and overall Cliodhna and her band of merry men did a fantastic job of organizing it all.

The comic will be available to buy online too, so please email longstonecomics@gmail.com to secure your copy if you can't make it to any of the comic shops in town, or if you live outside Dublin. Here is the double page spread I did for it, hope you like!

September ...

Well I can happily say that the blog was neglected ONLY because I was busy working on a project. I sincerely hope to see the fruits of this labour out on the shelves by the end of October, as the project was ambitious but well worth it.

A sneak preview of the cover is attached, and if all goes well and the green light for printing is a go-go, then I will put more sneak previews of what to expect up! The poster is in mid-production too so expect to put that up mid Oct at latest.

Monoprinting

Let August slip by a bit there...oops. Working on a project due out in October, one part of a larger story which is proving straight forward enough...only I'm getting in my own way so that makes life a little difficult from a drawing perspective.
Here are some monoprints which I had a bit of fun messing with. I was hoping to get a faded b&w photo effect with it and a mist effect from airbrushing...kinda works on the lighthouse. The other was a meteor hitting the earths surface, a straight forward 4 panel piece which I like the finish of but it could work even better with a better clean up on Corel. Either way it proves I've been busy and not just sitting in a crumpled state of relief from the last 'eyebrow' challenge!

LAST DAY!!!...

Last day and I'm happy to say the eyebrows are safe. Today's offering is called 'The longest fight for not being the gayest beard'. They look tired because they've been fightin 3 days solid...it isn't easy wearing a beard, and you've got to protect your rights to wear one with the vigour of a Viking!
